I’m a Hawai’i-based journalist whose coverage mainly follows stories that are often at the intersection of social justice and the environment, with a focus on water, agriculture, communities, and the solutions-makers for our world’s most pressing concerns.

My work can be seen in the New York Times, National Geographic, Guardian, SF Gate, Yes Magazine, Civil Eats, Modern Farmer, EcoWatch, and forthcoming from others.

I’m also a recipient of grants from National Geographic Society, Author’s Guild, Fund for Investigative Journalism, and have been a two-time fellow at the Institute for Journalism and Natural Resources, as well as with the National Tropical Botanical Garden’s Environmental Journalism Program in Kaua’i.
